Types of punching bags

Filler

First of all, decide on the type of filler. Inflatable and bulk pears are easier and easier to transport, but most of the shells with a “dry filling” can later be filled up by adjusting their rigidity.

1. The sand is a classic, but a classic hard. Such pears are characterized by high weight and traumatic risk.

2. Sawdust - despite the environmental friendliness, for pears is not the best option. The filler will be pressed at the bottom of the bag, leaving a half-empty top. In addition, the woody spike may rot.

3. Crumb rubber - more expensive sawdust, but not so noticeably stray, and is not afraid of decay. But too small a weight of such stuffing can be a disadvantage for many.

4. Water - provides pear hardness slightly below average. Ideal for filling portable floor shells - before transporting a pear or dummy, it can be drained and then filled again with a hydraulic bag.

6. Gel - a modern filler used in the outer contours of the combined projectiles, reduces the risk of injuries when working out powerful blows. Ideally, the gel pear will also be equipped with a pneumatic valve to control the stiffness.

Before buying, if there is an opportunity to test the projectile in action, spend at least a couple of direct blows to check the rigidity. If the fist does not fall inward and does not bounce like a ball, but leaves a shallow dent in the pear, it fits perfectly. Otherwise, during training, there is a high risk of injuring the arm, especially if the kick has not yet been delivered correctly.

Projectile weight

There is no need to know any formulas, just remember: the weight of the projectile must correspond to the weight of the athlete (plus or minus 10 kg). But there are also exceptions.

For example, for children's trainings they use much lighter bags from 5 to 10 kg, but professionals and experienced amateurs with well-placed equipment can work with pears, which are much higher than their own weight.

Ideally, you should focus on the force of impact. With a good push, the “right” projectile will sway, too light will fly off, and an excessively heavy one will remain hanging almost motionless. The exceptions are high-speed pears - here you will need light enough and mobile pneumatic models to workout were really effective.

Mounting features

Pay attention not to the principle of hanging the pear, but to the method of fastening the belts on its case. Any little thing matters:

1. The presence of rivets on the canvas upholstery is unacceptable - the belts must be attached to the entire length.

2. Sewn loops made of the same material as the boot are suitable only for light shells. On medium and heavy metal rings should be used, fixed around the perimeter of the bag.

3. Belts converging at one point are allowed only on pears weighing up to 40 kg.
